7th grade FCS students will learn the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and how to recognize how media and culture can influence relationships and behaviors.  They will also learn about family life cycle changes, the attributes of strong families and methods of handling family crisis.   Students will then learn about clothing care which includes laundry, ironing and sewing repairs.  They will learn to identify sewing machine parts and their functions while practicing safety on the sewing equipment.  Students will then get the opportunity to demonstrate their sewing skills by completing a sewing project.
