Middle School Pictures are set for the morning of Friday August 25th.
We are set to begin taking pictures at 8:35 a.m. and be done by 11:00.
NO personal locks are to be brought from home to use on your lockers. Nor should you EVER take your lock home to practice. Locks should be on your locker at all times and locked.

Chromebook Insurance is available and highly suggested. $35 each year
Chromebook Protection Plans are available for purchase until Friday, Aug 25, 2023. The cost is $35/year and is highly recommended to save you money as well as assure yourself a high-quality loaner device. (Must be purchased each year.) Seniors who decide to purchase their device will also receive a discount on the cost of the purchase at graduation. Library Bookmark Contest
Entry forms are in the library. Your bookmarks are due September 1 and
the winners will be announced the week after Labor Day. Prizes! Fame!

NORRIS ESPORTS MEETING - There will be an informational meeting for anyone grades 7-12 who would like to participate on the Norris Esports Team this year on Wednesday, August 23rd at 3:30 pm in the Norris High School Library.

We’re traveling to all four cities on the Eastern Seaboard Trip in June, 2025! The trip is open to all current Norris Middle School students! The Nebraska Game and Parks will be having a Hunter Education and firearm safety class at the Hickman Community Center this month. Dates and times are as follows: Thursday August 24, 6:30-9pm. SaturdayAugust 26, 9am to 1pm. Monday August 28, 6:30-9pm. Students must attend all three classes in order to be eligible to take the final exam on the last evening. Students must pass the course with an 84% or higher on the 50 question test, to earn their certificate. Students must be 11 years old by the date of the exam in order to take the test. This course is free with all materials provided by the NG&P, and all ages are invited to attend. To register, go to the Nebraska Game and Parks website, outdoornebraska.gov. In the search window type in hunter education classes, select Hunter Education, scroll down and select, Find a traditional classroom course, select Firearm Hunter Education classroom course, view upcoming events, go to August 24 to find the course at the Hickman Community Center and register. This class is being taught by Kevin Hennecke, an instructor who has been teaching Hunter Education for 34 years. Those students who are planning to shoot Trap next spring should take this course if they do not have Hunter Education certification. Bring a pen or pencil to class along with a completed parent release form that is found on that registration page.

Norris will once again be hosting Girls on the Run this fall
$35 each year. 3rd - 6th Grade Girls
Practices will be Tuesdays/Thursdays 3:45-5:00 (on the elementary walking track) and there is an (optional) 5K celebratory run/walk on Nov 5th. Registration has just started. Practices start September 5th! Register at GOTRnebraska.org
