It feels so good to be appreciated - so appreciate others more often! How would school be affected if the small things (and BIG things) people do for others were recognized more often? Wouldn’t that be a place you would WANT to come to each day?
Some tips for offering appreciations:
Be genuine -an inauthentic appreciation can be upsetting.
Speak from the heart.
Talk about the impact the other person’s action have had on you. (For example, “I appreciate how, every time I arrive at school, you welcome me with such a big smile! It makes me feel happy to be there.”)
Stay focused on the recipient. (For example, “Thank you so much for helping me pick up my things when they were accidentally knocked out of my arms in the busy hallway. It was a relief to know I wasn’t going to be late for my next class and allowed me to keep moving with the flow of traffic. I really appreciated the help.”)
Lunch:
Classic Cafe: Cheese Calzone, California Blend Vegetable
Grab & Go: Ham & Cheese Flatbread
Diner: Hamburger or Spicy Chicken Patty
