Wrestlers, your first practice is on Tuesday January 11th at 6:30 am and we will meet on the wrestling deck above the north gym in the highschool.

Friday Battle of the Books teams meet.


Weather is cold, dress appropriately to go out for Outdoor Recess.

Bring your coat, hat and gloves with you to Lunch.  Please do not leave them in Lost ‘n Found.

 

Change Wars has begun! Bring in your change - pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills! Help your Advisory! The battle is on!

Congratulations to the Lego Team for qualifying for STATE at their competition Saturday! They won two out of three Robot Runs!! Members are: Tabitha Crawford, Brenna Behrends, Brooks Bossard, Connor King, Marcus Wesch and Bowen Stump

Yarn:1 larger skein or 2 smaller balls of any weight 4 yarn (ex: Red Heart with Love) in your color of choice

Do you like playing fun board games? Join the Q.G. Club! We meet Mondays after school from 3:30 to 4:30 in Mr. Kranz’s room. It is open to all - you just need to find transportation to get home. Next meeting is today!

 

HAL History Bee -  We’ll be back on 1/11 and take the regional qualifying test on 1/ 18 !!

 

Reminder: “Nuisance items” are not allowed at school. A nuisance item is something that is not required for educational purposes and which would cause a distraction to the student or others

 

Science Quiz Bowl Friday, 1/14, 3:45-5:00 p.m., bring your charged chromebook.

 

Winter Wonderland Bookmark Contest in the library.  All entries due Friday January 21.  Winners receive fame, fortune and acclaim.   Also, winning entries will be turned into bookmarks and grand prize winners receive gift cards.

 

6th Grade Book Club Sign-ups are open! There are just 9 spots available. Meeting Tuesdays at 12PM with lunch in the library. We will be reading “The Westing Game.” First come, first served. You must be able to commit to reading the book with us each week in order to participate!

 

Middle School College Savings Scholarship

Students who complete the EducationQuest Middle School College Savings Scholarship activity will be eligible to register for one of five $200 scholarships.

EducationQuest will randomly select one student winner on October 31, December 31, and February 28; two students will be selected on April 30.

To be eligible, a student must:

  • be a U.S. citizen or legal resident

  • be a middle school student attending a Nebraska school

  • complete and mail the scholarship entry form to EducationQuest between September 1 and April 30

EducationQuest will deposit the $200 scholarships into the winners’ NEST 529 College Savings Plan account. Winners who do not have an account will need to set one up.

All Loaner chromebooks will need to be returned on February 4, 2022 in order to have devices available for Science Olympiad, February 5.
