VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Nebraska Animal Medical Center is hosting a Truck or Treat on October 27th, 2024, from 4-7 PM in the large grass square next to our building. Our practice manager, Adam Forney, is an alumnus of Norris, and we would love for any clubs at the school to set up a booth!  All the clubs, teams and organizations will need is a table and some candy. We will provide treats for any trick or treating pups. Our staff is decorating their tables, and Norris students are welcome to do so as well! Set up will begin at 3:30 PM, and everyone is welcome to dress in costume and join in the fun! Please let us know if anyone is interested by October 19th via email to sheyenne.diltz@namcvet.com.

Looking for High school student Volunteers for the Norris Craft Fair, Saturday, October 5, from 9 am - 3 pm at the high school.  Vendors start coming at 6 am that day so we would need volunteers from 6-9 am, then again from 3-5 pm (it doesn't usually take so long to break down, so might only need them until 4).Volunteers will check in at the PTO booth by the concession stand. Here is the Google Form for interested students to fill out: https://forms.gle/7aisCNkcm9MTUdaq6

Looking for a sweet volunteer opportunity to get those community service hours in?

Paper Moon Pastries in Cortland would like to help you out!  They are looking for volunteers for the Once in a Blue Moon Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off on Saturday, October 12th in Cortland. Please see Mrs. Oelling in the Library to sign up!

Saturday, October 5th at Prairie Hill Learning Center, a non-profit toddler-through-8th grade Montessori center set on a 12-acre farmstead between Roca and Sprague is hosting a Children's Country Fair.  At this annual event, there are a variety of kid-centric activities (face painting, pony rides, cake walk, penny toss), but also live music, a raffle, a bake sale, and some educational booths.  This event is open to the community, and we’ve seen as many as 300 attendees in past years. If you are looking for more ways to earn volunteer hours, this is it.  You will  help oversee some of the kids activities, help direct parking, help work the bake sale, or other options.  Shifts are 30-60 minutes; volunteers could potentially earn up to 6 hours if they wanted to arrive ahead for final set-up and stay after for clean-up, but certainly any time that fit their availability in-between!  Thanks for considering this opportunity!  Interested parties can sign-up here;  please have them enter “(name of high school) volunteer” in the comments, and I’ll know to send them additional info!

The Down Syndrome Association for Families is looking for volunteers to help with their annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk the morning of Saturday, October 5th. The event is at Antelope Park. We'll have music, food, vendors, and lots of fun 🙂 We need volunteers for a range of activities, including setting up posters along the route, handing out food, running the registration and raffle table, directing walkers, holding signs, and cheering on walkers. Please use this link to sign up. Shifts are for 1-1.5 hours, but we'd love volunteers to sign up for the full morning.
