Norris Neighbors is seeking new mentors!
Who: sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply.
What: high school students are paired with an elementary-age student to mentor every Wednesday during 6th or 7th period. High School mentors will talk, read, or play games, or do other fun activities with their elementary mentee each week.
When: applications are due Friday, September 15th, by 4pm
How: It's best for students that have unassigned or release during 6th or 7th period, but if you are extra interested in joining and can work it out with your teacher for the entire school year, we will consider you! Students can earn community service hours for participating, this is also a great experience to include on applications for scholarships and college!
If you are interested, complete the application below:
Creative Writing Club will meet in S7 (Ms. Lengel's room) after school on Thursday. New members are always welcome! Part of our meeting will be to inform students about a new opportunity at Norris, a slam poetry team that will be organized with the Nebraska Writers Collective. Come to the Creative Writing Club meeting if you are interested in learning more about the slam poetry team (the team will meet once a week for an hour right after school - hopefully alongside the Creative Writing Club - more details to come).
Show your pride, get a Titan head outside! The Norris Cheer Team is offering Titan head driveway paintings in red and navy. One for $35 or two for $60. Painting dates available throughout September! SIGN UP LINK
