The Norris Board adopted the 2017-18 calendar at the December meeting. The calendar can be accessed online here. The calendar contains:

• 175 student days, 12 staff days.




• New teachers report Friday, August 11th.




• All teachers report Monday, August 14th.




• Students begin Thursday, August 17th.




• Last day S1 is December 22nd. Holiday break follows and staff return January 5, 2018.




• Spring break March 26-30th, 2018.



• Projected last student day May 23rd.

 
Quarter Dates:

• August 17th, 2017: First day of first quarter.


• October 12th, 2017: Last day of first quarter.


• October 17th, 2017: First day of second quarter.


• December 22nd, 2017: Last day of second quarter.


• January 8th, 2018: First day of third quarter.


• March 8th, 2018: Last day of third quarter.


• March 12th, 2018: First day of fourth quarter.


• May 23, 2018: Last day (projected) of fourth quarter.

• November 22-24: Thanksgiving Holiday

Snow day note: Snow days are not built into the year as extra days but simply listed at the end of the year to be used as conditions dictate. It is possible that if multiple cancellation dates are necessitated due to weather or other circumstances, the district will re-classify staff days within the parameters of the regular school year as student days in order to ensure the year still concludes prior to Memorial Day in May, 2018.
