Dr. Tracy Elected To NASCD State Board


Dr. Brenda Tracy, Norris Special Education and Curriculum Director, has been elected to the Nebraska Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Board of Directors. Dr. Tracy’s service on the prestigious state board will cover the 2017-18 school year.


Nebraska  ASCD (NASCD) is a diverse community of educators, strengthening teaching and learning through instructional leadership, to achieve the success of each learner.  The professional education association provides programs and services, which support progressive understandings of teaching, learning and leadership in the 21st Century. Board members ensure NASCD has an active and informed membership. Dr. Tracy’s expertise and service on the Board will assure NASCD continues to be viewed as a credible resource regarding curriculum and instructional issues.


Dr. Tracy has worked at Norris the last 16 years and through that time has served as school psychologist, special education director, assistant middle school principal, elementary principal and curriculum director.  She has served on several AdvancED accreditation reviews in the state of Nebraska including serving as the co-lead.  


On being elected by statewide colleagues to the NASCD Board of Directors, she said: “I enjoy the area of curriculum and looking at evidence based programs to help our district make the best decisions for instruction for our students.  With my complementary background in special education,  I strive to find interventions, instructional strategies and the right approach to help each learner achieve to the best of their ability.”
